Friday Favorites: Mermaid Mania

By: Taylor Clark

Happy December, friends! Mermaid mania has taken over Meant To Be, making us feel like a certain princess who lives under the sea. We just had to show off some of our favorite couture gowns that would fit perfectly with Ariel’s closet. The mermaid silhouette is ideal for brides with hourglass figures and curves-for-days. While some may fear that this style restricts movement, it’s all about how you get it altered. A well-altered mermaid can be the perfect attire for busting a move with your new spouse!

Blush by Hayley Paige: Orion

Contemporary and classic, this taffeta mermaid is a chic option for the couture bride. The cascading skirt is complete with horsehair trim while the sweetheart bodice is ruched to elongate the torso. Simplicity has never looked so elegant!

This mermaid is a dream for any sparkle queen. The soutache lace overlays an entire layer of opalescent sequins, which subtly catches the light and adds dimension. Flaunt those curves and shine!

Our last mermaid features an intensely ruffled skirt, asymmetrically ruched bodice, and sassy sweetheart neckline. This gown is all sorts of feisty for the bride with personality and spice.
