Grace and Wes's story will make you laugh, make you smile, and hopefully inspire you. Remember to scroll all the way down to see the list of vendors who made this beautiful day a reality!

Can you give us a glimpse into you & your hubs's love story?

I wish I had some gushy romantic details to tell you about our journey to becoming husband and wife - a beautiful story of our first date where we locked eyes and knew we would be together forever - but I don't. In fact, though Wes to this day thinks I'm lying, I didn't even know our first date was a first date. I showed up with damp hair, t-shirt and jeans, and no makeup to dinner with a boy that I never thought for a second would be interested in having a meal with me that meant anything more than having company while eating. That's right - I friend-zoned myself. But I think that's okay. It takes a lot of pressure off the "first-date" when you don't know it's happening.  Wes and I always enjoyed being friends and so the transition to dating wasn't really fast enough for anyone - including us - to know it was happening. I think you could say, that even as husband and wife, we're still in the friend-zone. Our story is pretty simple, really. It's about two different people who have been trying to figure out life with a God that loves unconditionally, despite our mistakes and selfishness. Thankfully, God crossed our paths in our journey with Him and we decided that it would be pretty cool if we got to continue seeking Him together.

What was it about your dress that made you realize it was "the one?"

Oddly enough, the dress I walked out of the store with the day I visited MTB was the one dress that I didn't want to walk out with when I first arrived. I had a pretty open mind - I didn't have a specific style or look I was really going for. The only thing I knew for sure was that I didn't want strapless, and, well, we all see what happened. Lucky for me, Ashton suggested I try on a strapless dress towards the very end of my appointment (I thought I had already found what I thought was the dress at that point), just so I could say I'd tried on every style and wouldn't regret anything. Boy, am I glad she did. Turns out that strapless dress I had no intention of trying on was the one I walked down the aisle in! I loved my experience at MTB. Ashton was so patient with a girl who has never been one for dress shopping and the MTB ladies took such great care of my mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law while I played dress up! I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

My favorite memory of our wedding day was most definitely our reception. We knew even before the first step of the wedding planning process was taken, the one thing we knew for sure we wanted was an awesome dance party to end our day. And our wonderful friend Warren took care of that.

What has been the best thing about marriage so far?

The best thing about marriage has been having a good friend - the best friend - around always. We get to cook together and pray together and road trip together, but we also know when we need to give each other space and when we need to claim some time to ourselves. Knowing that Wes is always there is the biggest blessing. Solid friendship makes marriage so much fun.

Any pieces of wisdom or advice you'd like to share with future brides, engaged gals, or newlyweds like yourself?

My biggest piece of advice for ladies - single, engaged, or married - would be to savor friendship. Romantic feelings rise and fall, but friendship is at the core of a healthy relationship, in my opinion. It's what's left when you're old and gray, sitting in your rocking chairs on the front porch, drinking coffee and probably eating something like dried prunes (isn't that what old people eat?). I'm excited to sit there with Wes one day and look back on the years we've spent as best friends.
