Today's Real MTB bride is extra special, because she is one of our very own Twirl Girls! As many of you know, Twirl is our sister store, and the community of women who work together really do start to feel like family. Madison and Dalton just had a tiny Twirl Girl of their own...sweet Miss Sadie Jane! Keep reading to hear how their love began and to see photos from their perfect day!
Can you give us a glimpse into you & your hubs's love story?
Dalton and I are probably the definition of High School Sweethearts. We met at a baseball game for Anderson County High School, he was flirting with me by throwing sunflower seeds at the back of my head... Typical boy right?? After that once we got talking we realized we had so many mutual friends and we weren't sure how we hadn't met until just now. It was just a great friendship to start with, we literally called each other Best Friends for the longest time. But Valentines Day in 2009 he showed up to my house with a huge stuffed lion and he seriously made me swoon. Fast forward a lot of years and a lot of ups and downs, Dalton FINALLY proposed on Christmas in 2015, a moment I will never forget! Even at such a young age, sometimes when you meet the love of your life, you just know!
What was it about your dress that made you realize it was "the one?"
I went dress shopping almost a year in advance of my wedding date, so honestly I wasn't expecting to actually walk out of the shop with a dress in hand that day. Its kinda like the guy, when you find the right one sometimes you just know! I was pretty certain I didn't want strapless, I wanted lace, and something with a pretty back... that's exactly what I walked out with. Once I got home and looked at my Pinterest board... my dress looked like so many I had pinned, if I'm nothing else... I am consistent! Shopping at Meant To Be was probably the best decision I could have made. It was such a personal experience and I knew my consultant was my advocate. It also helped that I was able to find the perfect dress well under my budget!!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
It's so hard to pick a favorite memory from my wedding because honestly the entire day and days leading up to it still seem like a dream. One thing that I don't think either of us will forget from that night was being on the dance floor with a bottle of wine and our best friends singing Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks.. and if that doesn't describe the two of us I am not sure what will. The day was perfect and being able to share it with our friends and family was such a blessing!
What has been the best thing about marriage so far?
Being able to finally call Dalton my husband is a pretty awesome feeling! Just knowing that you get to spend the rest of your life with this one person and start a family is by far the best part of marriage.
Any pieces of wisdom or advice you'd like to share with future brides, engaged gals, or newlyweds like yourself?
The biggest piece of wisdom I can give is "Don't sweat the small stuff" and I know that sounds cliché. My DJ showed up to the venue about an hour before the ceremony to set up and realized he forgot some very important cords.... we ended up having to pull my sisters vehicle where it was hidden by the barn and play the music for the ceremony out of her trunk with an iPhone and an Aux cord :) My ring bearer also drew down one of my flower girls dress with black sharpie shortly before walking down the aisle... I could go on and on about all the things that went wrong but at the end of the day I married my best friend and we couldn't be happier!
